Bradenton Beach is a city on Anna Maria Island in Manatee County, Florida, United States. It is part of the Bradenton-Sarasota-Venice, Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area. The city occupies the southern part of Anna Maria Island and is one of three municipalities on the island. The others are Holmes Beach in the center and Anna Maria in the north.
History – A post office called Bradenton Beach has been in operation since 1941. Bradenton Beach was incorporated in 1953. The city took its name from nearby Bradenton.
Geography – Bradenton Beach is located at 27°28′16″N 82°41′59″W. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.1 square miles (2.8 km2). 0.6 square miles (1.6 km2) of it is land and 0.6 square miles (1.6 km2) (50.00%) is water. However, according to the Bradenton Beach government website, it is an area of five square miles.
