The developer of the proposed Risdon on 5th condominium project bought the building next door for $2.8 million.  Developer Steve Bradley said the building, 435 Central Ave., will be renamed The Risdon and given exterior enhancements.  The three-story, 16,000-square-foot building in the Rosemary District contains seven apartments and five office/retail spaces, all of which are occupied.

The $6 million Risdon on 5th, at 1350 5th St., is designed to contain 22 residential condos and 7,000 square feet of commercial space in six ground-floor units. Bradley said the development will break ground soon.  Modifications to the just-purchased building will include the addition of contemporary exterior awnings and custom planters and columns by local concrete artist Jake Brady.

The Rosemary District is home to a number of new condo, apartment and commercial projects that are revitalizing the long-blighted neighborhood.
