Nathan Benderson Park was recently awarded an APA Florida Award of Excellence in the Planning Project category and Tom Walsh was part of a panel that presented the park’s master planning process to conference attendees.
TSW’s Landscape Architecture Studio developed the overall master plan for the park and helped coordinate visioning graphics.
Nathan Benderson Park is located in unincorporated Sarasota County, Florida. This county park used by a handful of local fishermen was once an unimproved borrow pit lake originally created to serve road construction needs in the region. Today, it’s being transformed into a 600-acre regional park that includes a world-class rowing venue that will host the 2017 World Rowing Championships. Website: http://nathanbendersonpark.org/
