VENICE, Fla. – A huge shark’s tooth found on Venice Beach, leading some to question the impacts of recent dredging.
Ania and John Bridinger found the more than five-inch long megalodon tooth just south of Caspersen Beach Park.
Just to the north of where it was found in the sand is being pumped up on Venice beach as part of the renourishment project.
Some speculate that the uncovering of the tooth could be the result of the renourishment, while others say the project will actually cover up many of the fossils.
Right now, strong wind and waves are also exposing parts of the coastline.
